funnthesun Posted September 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2007 Wow... another cat. 5 hurricane in the Carrib. It looks like this one is going south of Deans track. Limon looks like it is going to get a direct hit. These tracks do tend to change, but the western carrib. is taking a beating. This one looks like it is going to pass south of Grand Cayman, and Costa Maya. Belize looks it is going to get hit too. I wonder how many Itinerary's have been changed. yst347 Posted September 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 3, 2007 Limon isn't in any danger but Belize is in the crosshairs. :( This storm looks like it will cross Dean's path over the Yucatan and hit Mexico a second time farther north. We here along the Texas coast need to watch this storm closely.
RVman Posted September 3, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 3, 2007 That’s a good thing, I saw on TV this morning that it looks as tho it will hit Belize as a category 2 if it stays on its present course.
funnthesun Posted September 3, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted September 3, 2007 Just saw the update on the weather channel. Still a cat. 5 with 160mph winds. The headline was, "Yucatan gets pounded again." It is south of Dean's track, but will still do a lot of damage to Belize. Hope everyone is ok down there. Earthworm Jim Posted September 4, 2007 #9 Share Posted September 4, 2007 LWe here along the Texas coast need to watch this storm closely. Nah. Felix is no threat to Texas. I guess in theory the remnants could curl around and bring rain to some parts of Texas, but there is no threat there from it as a hurricane or tropical storm.
