garycarla Posted September 5, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2007 Dear Kaz: You are probably wondering why so few responses to some good questions. Might be because there are a handful of active message threads, mostly with the same questions going right now. Scroll down the first two pages to check some of those out. There have been some mini-reviews lately. Some like the show, some do not. Depending on what you are looking for in a meal, the answer for that would vary. The pier number does not matter, and it could change. All vehicles enter at the same place and they direct you. Never heard of a parking problem. What I have not seen is information about which side of the ship, and NY sights, other than the often suggested idea about being topside when the ship goes under the Verazano bridge. There is also some ROLL CALLS going for these cruises.
Grandpaul Posted September 5, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 5, 2007 I would say the port(left) side of the ship has the better view of NY. You have the same view from the otherside when coming back but it's usually a round 6 AM. Plus at 5 PM when you leave when looking at NY the sun is behind you. Mooder Posted September 5, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 5, 2007 Do they still offer half price for specialty restaurants after a certain time on these sailings? No. What time do you get off the ship in the am? We were off around 10, but they were not pressusring us. Does the parking fill up quickly? We arrived around noon and had no problem, but I wouldn't want to get there much later and expect a spot at the pier. What pier number does it dock at? 90 or 92 - as others have said, it doesn't matter as you park the same place either way. What show would you recommend seeing...comedian...broadway review? I really liked seeing both. We ate at 7 and then went to the broadway and then teh comedian. If I had to choose, I would go to the broadway. What specialty restaurant would you recommend? We wished we had gone to Cagney's. Do you need a birth certificate? They just asked us for i.d. For us that happened to be passports so I'm not sure what they would have said if we just had driver's licenses. Which side of the ship has the better view of NY? Port, I suppose, buti it is all good. What's your favorite frozen drink?:) I drank pina coladas all day and they have the best. NCL has converted my brother to pina coladas because they are so good. Have a great time - I know you will!
