Galapagos Islands - footwear

What did you wear on your feet on the Islands? I know some of the landings are wet landings. Are sneakers adequate?

Take great tennis shoes with very good tread on them. You will want the security when walking on loose stones.

Take a pair of TEVA type water sandals for the wet landings, again with great tread, and fastenings to hold on to the feet. You may want to change to tennis shoes when you are on land and leave your sandals for the return.

You won't want to go barefoot on a wet landing when the beach is rocky, nor will you want to get your tennis shoes wet.
