Past Hawaii cruisers: What was your experience, were the seas rough? Was the cruise too long? any info is helpful. Booked a BL Gty and was also wondering about Which side got the most scenery.

Thanks

We sailed to Hawaii from Vancouver Canada on the Spirit. We loved it

The five days at sea were very relaxing. The Spirit is a beautiful ship

with lots to do. The entertainment was very good and the staff was

excellent. We plan on doing it again. It was one of the better cruises we

were on. The seas were ruff on a couple of days but the ship handled it

very well. We had a geat time.

:) We too did the Spirit from Vancouver to Hawaii - the 5 days at sea were a bit rough, but nothing horrible. We were worried about the days at sea at first, but found it was great - lots of time to try things we normally didn't have time for - and it really built up the anticipation for finally arriving in Hawaii. The Spirit class ships are our favorite on Carnival. You'll have a great time.

We had a car waiting for us in EVERY port, pre-arranged before we left home. We either had a car waiting or were picked up by a courtesy car.

And then we winged it.

Apparently, a wave of astonishment came over the pax on our sailing. Maybe wallet shock. Most were grumbling about the excessive tour pricing, and tried renting cars as we arrived, but by then the prices had skyrocketed.

Overnight parking on Maui was limited to the first 50 passenger, which we missed, so we arrnged to have the car parked on the rental site, and used a courtesy car as well.

We sailed the Spirit from Hawaii to Vancouver. It was our favorite cruise so far (of 25!) The seas were just a little rough a couple nights between islands, but no problems at all as we sailed to Vancouver. Food, entertainment, service all were excellent on board. Passenger demographics definitely a little more mature and upscale than a typical Carnival cruise. We booked a balcony guarantee and got a 9A...awesome!

I have been reading lots of major negatives about how this is done. Has anyone actually gone through this before? Checking in @ San Diego port then being shuttled to Ensenada for boarding, the delays, the confusion, Help!

The sea was a bit rough the first day, but the further south we went, the sea did calm. It was not that bad, but you did notice it. It was also a bit chilly that first day. The five days at sea were a bit long. By the fifth day, it did get kind of old. But the sixth day we were in Maui and all thoughts of "at sea" were gone.

We were on the aft, right next door to a wrap around. We got to see both sides of the ship. Your are going to have a fabulous time.
