Rolandtgs Posted September 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2007 Hi All; We are booked on a Carnival cruise the first week of December. We were hoping that since this is the off season there would be fewer kids running around and taking over the pools, hot tubs etc. Would this be correct, or does it really make much of a difference for the time of year? Thanks
megnsamsgracie Posted September 10, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2007 We just cancelled a Carnival cruise for the first week of December! We were taking our kids out of school for 5 days because of it.. but I know MANY parents who wont take their kids out. So I think there will be kids, just not a ton of them! Thanks Time of year, length and itinerary are the key factors in number of kids onboard. During December there will be fewer. Your Carnival December is likely in the Caribbean or Mexican which does attract more children as compared to Europe, South America, etc. Also the shorter the cruise the more children. Thanks My guess is, thee will be very few kids. This is one of the most off weeks for families during the entire year. does this mean no kids? Certainly not, but there should only be a handful. Nita It seems to be one of the most off weeks for adults too and therefore there are some terrific bargains. Most with school-aged children do not take them out of school in early December and the holiday break is around the corner and many of the older ones have finals. If you want to avoid as many children as possible, this is the week for it.
gojanie Posted September 12, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 12, 2007 We went on Carnival Pride 1st week in December, and I don't even remember seeing kids.
matj2000 Posted September 12, 2007 #7 Share Posted September 12, 2007 There will be some kids that are under 5. but remember, being between holidays, most younger parents are not taking vacations at that particular time. So expect alot of older people.........
