Rare Lois R Posted September 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2007 Hi,:) there are a couple of tours offered through the cruiseline that sound very good to me. One is going to a Winery, (CherryPoint Vinyards) followed by Hilary's Cheese Farm. The other one is the Cowichan Valley Wine Tour. Has anyone done either one of these? Would love some feedback:D Sailing next month!!! Thanks:)
Urban trekker Posted September 10, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2007 I checked those two tours out on the Celebrity web site and it's tough to choose between the two - but I would lean towards the Cowichan Valley wine tour because it stops in Chemainus - home of the famous murals - when the mill shut down the town folks went to work - painting murals on just about every storefront, store back or store side they could find - depicting the rich history of the area - plus there is a first nations display as well - while not as great as the east coast - the fall colors in the valley should be ablaze. Here's a link to the Chemainus web site: http://www.chemainus.com/ Hope this helps Cheers Dennis
Rare Lois R Posted September 10, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted September 10, 2007 Hi, thanks for the reply:) the problem is....I LOVE Cheese:D
insideedge Posted September 11, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2007 Cherry Point is famous for its Blackberry Port..... it is amazing. Their other wines are ok but not great. The cheese at the cheese shop is all hand made and is exellent. That being said if you have a chance to go to Chemainus I would take that tour over the wine (the wine just is not that good) and check out a place called Small Tall Treats........ they have the best cinnamon buns on the Island. Hope this helps.
MonaCD Posted September 11, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2007 My SO has been to Naniamo a few times in recent months and his vote is for the Cowichan Valley Wine Tour, says there is much more to see.
