Costa Rica Shopping

Is there any places close to the port where a person could buy a Costa Rica rocking chair.

The only shopping at the port is a craft area and a few stores. When I was there in July, I saw wooden bowls and things, but nothing no rocking chairs or other furniture.

In Puntareanas the town was right there.... you probably could find what you want

The stuff next to the pier is kind of like a flea market and they are mainly all selling the same stuff (think a small version of the Straw Market in Nassau). No rocking chairs when I was there last week. I saw some really nice cutting boards (bought one) and also some art painted on feathers (good prices). they have bowls and other stuff made from rosewood that are beautiful.

 

I would not suggest leaving the pier area. It didn't look that safe (our tour drove though the downtown area outside the pier and I didn't see many tourists walking around, and I wouldn't waste my time doing so).
