What size luggage can be carried on? If we only take to roll ons each and really dont want to check them in can we carry them on? If we dont check them in boarding what to we do as far as leaving? Do they still get sit outside our stateroom? We are driving. We will not be on a plane. I have not flown in years so I dont know the size of the machines that the carry ons go through at the air port.

Your carryon needs to be able to fit thru the xray machine which has the same size opening as those at an airport. So, if you can carry it on a plane, you will be fine.

You don't put your bags out the night before if you are going to carry them off yourselves. You will get lots of information the night before your cruise ends to explain the self debarkation process.

Enjoy your cruise:)

If you have a 3 piece set of rollaboard luggage, for example, usually the only one that will fit through the carryon scanner is the smallest piece (usually a 22"). If you aren't certain about the size, take your bag to your closest airport and measure it in the size containers the airlines have before checkin. If it will fit in there (or within an inch of fitting), then it will be fine as a carry on for the ship.

The x-ray opening at our local airport security will accommodate carry on luggage up to 10" x 16" x 24". I am assuming this will be the size for the ship's security thingy (technical term ;) ).

We each got one around this size, and we will be carrying it on the plane as well as the ship. We are going to check one suitcase for all of us to share.
