NCL embarkation and transfer hotel to dock

I am staying at a NCL chosen hotel for transfer to the Dawn in NYC. How well does NCL do with these transfers??? Do they get you on with time to spare to enjoy the pre sailing drinks after the mandatory life vest drill??? Any problems leaving the boat at NYC to get a cab back to

Penn Station for Amtrak????

Dont know how NCL handle tfr from their chosen hotel to the pier but hope its very well as we have NCL hotel and tfrs in LA!!

You can get cab to Penn Stn no problem from pier in NYC. We just had to wait 10 mins last October when we did it and it was well 'policed' so there was no queue jumping! :)
