eh2zed Posted September 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2007 Is this considered busy? Thanks! Might be a bit hectic around the pier with all the tenders but elsewhere will be fine.
gatour Posted September 20, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2007 No, I would consider this about average.
Nanatochase Posted September 21, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 21, 2007 A couple of years ago, I was there and there were 7 ships in port. BUSY !!!
twinkletoes4445 Posted September 21, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 21, 2007 Three ships is not very many at all. When we're on the island, for land vacations, there have been as many as 9 or 10 ships in port on a single day. It's a total zoo. But there are always a couple of days that there aren't any ships...and that's nice.
JLC@SD Posted September 21, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 21, 2007 Is this considered busy? Thanks! It depends, .....are they all tendering.....and if there is only one dock......it can be hectic with all the tenders competing to come into the dock. Cruisin Kay D Posted September 21, 2007 #7 Share Posted September 21, 2007 Been there 5 or 6 times on cruises -- 3 is NOT BUSY at all!!! You want busy? Come on 12/19 when we're there on Radiance OS with 6 other ships -- that's right, 7 ship in all! Several of them are quite large (such as Liberty OS, Carn Liberty & Celeb Constellation) -- our ship is probably the smallest of 7!! No cruise ships dock at Cayman -- all tender so the traffic at 2 tender terminals can be a NIGHTMARE, especially when trying to re-board your ship -- got to be sure you stand in the right line!! ddeprez Posted September 24, 2007 #8 Share Posted September 24, 2007 How do you find out how many ships in port?
twinkletoes4445 Posted September 24, 2007 #9 Share Posted September 24, 2007 http://www.caymanport.com/schedule.htm We find this to be fairly accurate. Sometimes it's off by one ship or so a day. :)

drew sailbum Posted October 29, 2007 #11 Share Posted October 29, 2007 All ships tender in at Grand Cayman. There are now three tender terminals, though traffic is not always spread out onto all three. 3 ships would be considered a light to moderate day. In peak season (mid-Nov to mid-Apr) 6 or 7 per day is quite normal in the middle of the week. Occasionally there may be 9 or 10. I think the record is 11.
