we're looking for a private tour at the Nice (Villefranche), France port on

October 25, wondering if there are any good suggestions for tour guides out there?

We have heard many good things about, and have booked, Alain of Dream Tours

He is most anxious to gear the tour to what we want, and responds promptly to my emails. His fees are in line with others in the region

ie: 480 euros (four people) to 600 (eight people) for a 9 hour tour.

With regards to Dream tours, when you say 480 euros, that is the price when there are 4 people in the tour, right? and not 480 per person. Are there other fees when you book a private tour, taxes etc? Do they require downpayment prior to cruise? Thanks.

We are booked with Dream tours for Oct. 5th. There are 8 of us. The total is 600E, or 75E each. There was no deposit required to make the booking.

A year ago I used Sylvie di Cristo who was just great. Do a Google search to find some reviews.

 

What I liked was that she let the 7 of us on the tour choose our itinerary rather than taking us where she thought we ought to go.

We just returned from our cruise, and we used Revelation Tours in Villefranche. Michel from Revelation is mentioned often on this board and is very well liked. We had Isoline as our driver/guide and we thought she was wonderful. We saw everything, and more, that we had hoped to see. She even sent us back on the ship with a bag of chocolate filled croissants she purchased for us in Eze. The van was so comfortable, and she provided us with bottled water and soda throughout the day. I would highly recommend them. Have a great time!

We used Michel from Revelation. He was one of the highlights of our trip! Very highly recommended! We were treated like royalty! He was very knowledgeable, got us to everything we wanted to see...and there were many places! We even toured for a few extra hours and he didn't even charge us!!! Classy guy! It was very apparant that he was all about making sure we had a wonderful experience. Can't say enough about him!!!!

I think everyone that's been mentioned here is very good. You won't go wrong with Dream Tours, Revelation Tours, or Sylvie. We had an amazing day with Sylvie, she was a real highlight for us. When we then used Driver in Rome a few days later in Rome, Daniel, the owners son, told us he thought Sylvie was the best tour guide in Europe.
