jbaloo Posted September 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2007 I'm trying to plan excursions for our cruise in January. I just found out today that Lahaina is a tender. Excuse my terms, I may not be saying it right. What exactly does that mean? How long should I plan for it to take us to the dock? And when do you need to start lining up for the cruise? The website says it will be in Lahaina from 8:00AM - 2:00PM. Thank you for your help!
Rare Terre Posted September 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2007 Tender means the ship can't dock at the pier and you have take a smaller, boat, a tender, to the pier. You will board it from the ship.

Shore to Shore Posted September 19, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 19, 2007 They usually announce a time and place to get "tender tickets" the evening before arrival. The tender ticket time is the time that you are allowed to proceed to the tender area (usually on deck 3 or 4). You cannot go to that area before that time. Those in suites and those on NCL sponsored excursions have the first priority on tender tickets and will get to go ashore first. Then they will go in order of tender tickets. It usually takes about 90 minutes to get everyone ashore who wants to go.
