Cruise Question!

Hi, I'm new to the board and had a few questions if anyone can help me out! We'll be going on the Conquest in January and had a few questions....

1) About how much do the spa services run?

2) The "fancy" drinks what do they run?

3) If you get a room with no window....how "bad" is it? LOL

You will be just fine in a room without a window, you just don't spend a lot of time in there!

We've sailed once before (on the Glory last time) and had a balcony, we loved it. But I'm trying to do this cruise for my husband's 40th (as a surprise) and I didn't want to fork out the extra with it being by Christmas. So I'm worried about a room with no window/balcony.

THANKS!

We love inside staterooms - you can sleep late or take an afternoon nap and it's pitch black in the room. I love it! On the Conquest class ships, the inside rooms are a bit smaller and don't have the sofa like the oceanviews. It's possible the insides also lack the minibar (we were on the Conquest twice and were in a Spa Deck oceanview both times so I'm not sure). On the Fantasy class ship, there are no differences other than the lack of a window, so we choose inside. You can have a great time in ANY stateroom, so don't worry about it!

Nope....I was on the Conquest in Feb...

ALL ROOMS have fridges/minibars..

I had an Ocean View but friends had an inside cabin...

Yes, the Conquest and Glory are sister ships.

My family has done balcony and inside cabins and although we prefer the balcony for obvious reasons, we really don't mind the inside either. The money that we saved on our last inside cabin has allowed us to take two cruises this year (inside again.) We found that with two active pre-teens, we didn't really spend enough time in the room to make it worthwhile.

BUT, if money wasn't an issue I'd have a balcony every time!

The fancy drinks are nice, but not worth the $$. I smuggle in rum punch on the ship in a water bottle and enjoy rum punch all week as I take the elevator with my shot of rum to the beverage bar and top off the glass with ice and punch. It's funny how many other people I meet in the elevator with an empty glass with a shot going to the same place.

I also put a case of beer (cans) in my luggage. My wife also puts in a few bottles of pop (soda) too.

I just have to purchase one fancy drink to get the glass, then I am drinking pretty cheap all week. The hooch can really add up$$$$$.

You could be at the cruise terminal at around 11:30. Much later than that and the lines get pretty long...

There are quite a few places to park. I've elected to use EZ Cruise. Many other folks here have used them and swear by their service. You can even save a few bucks by prepaying your parking fee online:

You do WHAT????

Don't you know that it's against to rules to SMUGGLE BOOZE on board the ship???

Now, IF I was gonna smuggle booze ('course I wouldn't cause I'm a law abiding cruiser...) I might use something like this:

http://www.rumrunnerflasks.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=203

cause they're laminated plastic, puncture resistant, foldable when empty and the 32 oz ones pretty much hold a liter of booze... not that I'd know from first hand experience...

how much time did you spend on the balcony/in the room? Some people say it's not a big deal, but for us it is. Think about how you felt about the balcony, what you used it for, and how oftend and you will have your answer...
