That's cheap, even if you take into account the flights. Unfortunately, we are all booked up for this year. We are thinking of a South American cruise in February, 2009. But it would be Buenos Aires, Montevideo and the Brazilian coast.

We just booked Celebrity Infinity for $699 for outside guarantee for 14 night South American cruise with a somewhat similar itinerary through the canal to Chile. We could have had inside for $599, but for $100 more for two weeks it made sense to take the outside. We are using Starwood points for our hotel in Santiago for three nights to get the best airfare from Santiago to Miami one way. Even my fussy husband couldn't resist this one.

I'd sure like to know how you got $699 for Infinity for 14 days. Went to their site and couldn't find anything close.

Well done. On a daily basis I am amazed at how many emails I receive with incredible offers. I truly don't think there has ever been a better time for cruising. Just think about the supermegaships entering the market with 5,000 passenger beds to fill. For selected sailings you'll see some incredible deals.

Dear Patty in Pa,

 

This outside rate was from a one day sale a couple of weeks ago. Of course, it doesn't include taxes and one way airfare back to Florida. When I called Celebrity direct to book at 8 AM that day, they had 5 inside and 4 outside cabins available, which would probably be gone within 30 minutes from their opening. These sales usually happen like this where there are only a few cabins at this rate---like airfares. If it's any comfort, we have had years of paying for other cruises at full price.
