Muster Drill on Coral Panama Canal

Muster drill is usually scheduled either 90 minutes or 60 minutes before departure time. That way you are done with it, and can make "sailaway" festivities. There is also a make-up muster drill for those that board too late to make the first one. Attendance at one of them is mandated by law.

If this interferes with a fixed seating dining time, there is likely to be open seating dining on the first night for all. If it does not interfere with the early seating dining, they are likely to stick with the assigned tables the first night.

Princess musters it's passenger inside. You will be assigned a muster station based on your cabin location - forward cabins are usually the Princess theatre, aft cabins the Vista show lounge, or whatever they are calling the aft lounge. Mid-ships, Wheelhouse and other mid-ship venues.

Just take your life vest, do not put it on until they ask you to at the end of the muster drill.

Have a great cruise.

Did the crew do a "roll call" by passenger name or cabin at the drill? I am traveling alone and nearly deaf and do not want to be marked AWOL!

Thanks,

Marne

Hello,

Marne, tell your cabin steward that you have problems hearing ( I have a severe hearing loss), and he should be able to help you with this. OR alert one of the cruise staff, preferably an officer and tell him or her the problem.

You will be fine, and surely, you will have a wonderful cruise.

Hope that this helps.

Fred

No, they do not do a roll call during Muster. If there is an emergency and you are called to Muster - they may do a roll call at that time.

Princess puts a notice in their patter or announces this during Muster that if you have any disability - to notify the Purser's Desk the first day so that they are aware of it. I also agree with the above poster that you notify your room steward so that they are aware of it also.

You may also want to indicate a Muster person when you enter the lounge that you have a hearing disability.

Princess is very good about working with people with disabilities - my mom is visually impaired and Princess has excelled over the other lines in reference to her disability.
