Liz Pereira Posted September 24, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 24, 2007 Anyone ever done this? :) or :( ?? I haven't taken the Scenic Railway excursion. Planning to on my next visit. I have read both pros and cons. Scroll down and you should find reviews from past Cruise Critic members.

Crusin Karen Posted September 24, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted September 24, 2007 Thanks for the link! I am not really sure I want to do this, but will talk to DH about it. I wonder if you book it with them directly or they have an agreement with the cruise ships. Seems like a lot of $$.
Liz Pereira Posted September 24, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 24, 2007 Most excursions take bookings directly from the cruise line. Another option is to tour the island with a local taxi driver.
Crusin Karen Posted September 24, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted September 24, 2007 Liz, this was what I was thinking, but everyone is talking about thenfordgrey (I think his name is) I saw your past threads on him too. We are going solo and I fear it will be higher in price for just the 2 of us. And truth be told I get very antsy doing tours!! I would kind of like to go to the "must see" places, then go to a beach to relax. I do enjoy seeing the islands, but if the weather is nice I really just want to hang out! Friends told us about Turtle Beach-they went on their honeymoon and loved it-but I read it's closed. So figure maybe Frigate or Cockesail (sp??) I have been reading all the posts...but let's say we just "wing it." Figure out the morning we get there what we want to do. Depending on weather and all that. Will we be able to find a "good" "reputable" tour guide that doesn't put too much of a dent in our $$? Thanks for all the info!

I suggest you contact Thenford Grey http://***** prior to your arrival in St. Kitts. I used his services in December and found him to be very professional, punctual and knowledgeable. He can take you to the either Frigate Bay, South Friars or Cockleshell Beach for the day or give you a tour of the island which includes Brimstone Hill Fortress http://www.brimstonehillfortress.org and Romney Manor http://www.caribellebatikstkitts.com and if there is time go to the beach.
