bcohtofl Posted September 24, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2007 I have not seen this question before and I do not see anything on the deck layouts for it. Is there a walking track on the Westerdam? Is it marked telling you how many times around is a mile? Or do you have to walk on the Promenade deck to get around the outside of the ship? I appreciate any help in this matter. Thanks
haligonian37 Posted September 24, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 24, 2007 I believe the Promenade deck is considered the "walking track". It's what I used back in February and I always had plenty of company, espeically after the dinner seatings. There are signs noting that 3 laps = approx. 1 mile. For myself, I usually did more distance than I would've at home....but the scenery and weather was much better in the Caribbean than in the cold Maritimes :) . Krazy Kruizers Posted September 24, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 24, 2007 The Promenade Deckm is the walking track on the Westerdam -- haven't been on a Vista class ship in awhile so can't remember how many laps equal a mile.
sail7seas Posted September 24, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 24, 2007 Three laps around sounds right to equal a mile on the Vista ships. We love walking Promenade Deck. The teak deck is so beautiful and in port or at sea, it's wonderful walking around the ship. Sure beats using a treadmill IMO We use the treadmills, if necessary, but the wrap around decks on HAL ships are one of (the many) things we love about HAL ships.
