Cruise ships in Charleston???

Does anyone know if there are any plans for Carnival or other lines to base a permanent ship in Charleston?

Haven't heard of any, but I would like to see RCCL locate there.

Norwegian Majesty, every Saturday from 11/3/07 to 6/14/2008. Some other ships call there, but are not based there.

Chances are you will not see RCCL make Charleston a departure point. I know this because I live her. It would take a massive improvement in parking. Charleston just doesn't have it. There are several parking decks around but not enough to hold the passengers of a cruise ship plus the normal traffic of the locals. With all that being said I wish RCCL would move something up here. Currently we have the Carnival Glory and I think Norwegan that departs from here a few times a year.

Carnival Victory twice in 2008: May 26 and Oct 20. Both are five days to Freeport and Nassau.
