Aplmac Posted October 8, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2007 Just wondering how long it takes, and approximately how much it'd be to go from Bridgetown to Mullin's Beach? Time? allow for forty five minutes, but maybe an hour if traffic is bad. On the other hand, if traffic is flowing, it could be half an hour, too but I'd say 45 mins. How much? I'm not sure, but would reckon US$25-30, each way? I don't take taxis, here so don't quote me on that. Catch the right bus and that would be US$0.75 yes that's 75 cents your money, but you'd be better off with the Bds.$1.50 equivalent to pay the bus with. awww just give them the US$1 bill and forget the chump change you'll be getting back anyway. . . . . . . Northbound buses run about 200-300yds. away from the Bridgetown Harbour entrance, so if you're inclined to do the bus thing at minimal expense but lesser comfort, all you gotta do is take the LEFT at the roundabout immediately outdside the Harbour gates, and walk about 200-300yds. yds. around a gentle right bend until you see Chefette fast-food outlet across the busy street you'll find there. Opposite Chefette, on your side of the busy street is a Northbound bus-stop. Stick yer hand out to stop the bus, or they'll sail right by - that's the local culture, so don't be shy, stick your hand out. ASK if he's going past Mullins, to Speightstown(pronounced Spites-town) before boarding and paying. Once you're on the right bus, ask the driver/conductor/nearest local ppl to alert you when you're getting close to Mullins, and you'll be okay. Take taxi back to the ship, when time is running short . . . . . . . . . . . . . Attaching a few photos taken just this Sun. afternoon. First time I've swum there in years...just as nice as always! - see what you're missing? ________________________________________
SittinUnderAPalmTree Posted October 13, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted October 13, 2007 Thank you so much for your detailed response! I really appreciate the information. The pictures are beautiful, but I'm thinking that Mullin's might be too far away from the ship. Is there a closer (just as beautiful) beach with a little beach bar? I've read about the Boatyard, but it seems to "touristy" for us. Thanks again for being so helpful! :)
