Should I stay in Miami an Extra Day?

Hello All:

I am traveling with my 17 year old son and 12 year old daughter for a Thanksgiving cruise beginning on November 18 (Sunday). Well, Delta changed my schedule, so I have the choice between arriving in Miami midday on Friday (3:13 p.m.) or leaving early on Saturday morning and arriving in Miami around 1:00 the day before the cruise.

I'll be staying at the InterContinental in Downtown Miami. My question is, will there be enough to do to keep two teens from being bored for almost two days if I decide to arrive on Friday at 3:13 p.m. or do you think it would be best for me to just come in on Saturday so I only have to entertain them for one full day before the cruise?

If you suggest coming in on Friday, can you please give me some ideas as to what I could do for those days? I already considered doing the celebrity boat tour but I'm not sure what else to do after that.

Thanks.

From the Intercontinental you can stroll over to the Bayside Marketplace and hang out- there are lots of restaurants, some brand name stores and lots of little boutiques- around a Marina. There wouldn't be enough to do there other than eat/shop/ people watch, but you can pass a pleasant evening there.

Otherwise on the extra day you could take them on a boat ride around the bay, an Everglades tour, go over to South Beach for a day on the beach etc.
