What can OBC be used for?

Hello,

 

Apologies in advance if this question has been asked a million times before. I tried using the search feature and it kept timing out! :o I am a first time cruiser and I'm curious what onboard credits can be used for? Will they pay for gift shop purchases or cover charges for specialty restaurants? Anything else? We will be on a Norwegian cruise, if that makes any difference.

Onboard credits should cover anything you use your seapass card to purchase. This includes any gift shop purchases, drinks, spa treatments, etc.

on our last cruise, NCL star, we had OBC from our TA, that could be used for anything. we had a card in our room that we needed to sign and turn in before it got credited to our account.

if the OBC is from the cruiseline, supposely it can't be used for the auto tipping..otherwise, everything else is fine.

Most except the credits for the casino too! Or try the spa services for a treat.
