cruiseLMG Posted August 31, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2004 I will be on the Thanksgiving sailing of the Summit and would love to participate in craft type activities. Is this type of activity available? When I was on the Island Princess they had ceramics. What does this ship have?
kitty9 Posted August 31, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2004 I don't remember having anything like ceramics on board. There was a needlepoint class and an origami class along with napkin folding, but that was about it. Perhaps I didn't notice anything because when I'm on a cruise I want to things I can't do at home. cruiseLMG Posted September 4, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted September 4, 2004 Thank you. We don't often have time for craft and similar activities at home. Anyone else have other classes offered?
crystalloubear Posted September 4, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 4, 2004 I went to the needlepoint, napkin folding and origami classes. Each one was about an hour. It was fun. They also had some other interesting classes - I don't know if you would consider floral arranging a craft or not. That was offered one day. There were also several different culinary classes (they were more like demonstrations I thought). They had one on main courses - they made a filet mignon type dish and you got a small sample. There was also one on desserts and another on ice carvings. I always find it interesting to go to the wine tastings. They had a martini class too. I am not a big drinker, but I like to learn new things. Like you, I don't have time for any of these types of things at home and enjoy them while on vacation. I can only take about an hour of sitting by the pool and then I want to do something interesting.
cruiseLMG Posted September 8, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted September 8, 2004 Thank you. The classes you mentioned all sound like what I am looking for. I like to try new things in addition to the lounging I intend to do.
