If you grab a before dinner drink from the bar outside the dining room can you take it into dinner with you?

I just about always take my drink in to dinner with me. Never any problem with this.

I also take in to dinner a glass of wine from the Captain's party.

One of the best things about being on a ship is that you can wander almost anywhere carrying a drink, unlike on land where there are all those pesky liquor laws: no need to gulp your drink down just because you decide to stroll from one venue to another.
