Toffeegirl68 Posted October 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2007 If I am being picked up by a car, paid for by someone else, what is the etiquette on tipping? I am guessing that it will be a taxi - and it will be in Paris...... Your advice would be most welcome .......
jgsmuzzy Posted October 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2007 If the driver helps with your bags, I would suggest tipping. If he doesn't, then he is getting paid the going rate for what he is doing, and would not tip. As it will be Paris for the World Cup final, and the French are not in the final, I think he will be likely be grumpy, and will just grunt at you in the fetching gallic way. Toffeegirl68 Posted October 22, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted October 22, 2007 Our first driver was helpfulness itself and I'm not even sure our second taxi driver even went as far as to say 'Bonjour' - though he did get out the car to watch Stephen load and unload our case.... One got tipped, the other didn't....
