Earthworks pottery

Is the pottery at Earthworks safe to eat and drink out of (no lead or lead paint)?

Is it Dishwasher safe?

My wife works at the art gallery next door to Earthworks,

and she asked the same question, re. safety.

Personal communication with David Speiler the owner operator

would indicate that the answer is a yes, it's safe.

They use modern up-to-date colours,glazes,etc.

Dishwasher safe? I don't know,to be honest.

In this house I'm the dishwasher, and they're safe in my hands!

didn't know the wife worked up there (at the gallery).. thats great.

I love earthworks stuff.. always get it for gifts when I go to the states). I prefer the seconds shelf.. great stuff and for me, they are one of a kind works of art (some people call those things imperfections.. I don't).

I use mine to serve meals on and the bowls for cereal etc. I've never cooked in one, but don't own one that would use in the oven anyway.. (i've seen lasagna made in the nice rectangle ones).

Speiler(Earthworks) does gorgeous stuff.

I took some pics about 3 wks. back.

see my attachments!

Don't ask me what that last one is

- I guess it's a centrepiece for a dining table,

or maybe for a hallway table?...whatever: he's imaginative

Could someone tell me where Earthworks pottery is located?

How far from the ship?

We will be there in Feb. and I love pottery and would like to pick up some pieces.

I know they maintain (or maintained) a shop right at the Cruise Terminal in our Harbour,

so you needn't go to their main site which is inland aways,

unless you're doing Harrison's Cave,

in which case you'll probably go right past Earthworks at Shop Hill

in our central parish of St.Thomas

Hi Aplmac,

Your responses to questions on this board are a lot of times quite rhythmic. Also, I like the way you break up your sentences and phrases. Thank you, it makes for a much easier and enjoyable reading.

Now for my question re: Earthworks Pottery in Barbados

If the potteries I purchase from Earthworks are bulky making it impossible to take our purchase/s with us, would the company ship them to Canada? (at our expense of course). There are companies in Sorrento and Venice, Italy that do this kind of service. I wonder if Earthworks does the same business courtesy to their clients.

Thanks and have a good day.
