Has anyone had this cabin? If so, what can you tell me about it? My wife and I are booked on the Dec 8th sailing out of San Juan. It is our fifth cruise out of San Juan and our 6th overall. All of the others have been on RCCL. Any thing I need to know about Princess in general or this cabin??

Thanks,

Just got back from cruise on Crown. The ship is very nice, big and very hard to find your way around. We had a mini suite and it was wonderful.

It took us over 2 1/2 hours to board the ship. Not sure why. The food is so so. Princess seems to be in my opinion cutting back on the quality of food, unless you spend the extra dollars to go to the specialty dinning. We ate breakfast on the balcony everyday. But the only option for that without additional charges was continental:confused::confused:. But compared to the overcooked eggs in the buffet, that was fine with us.

Since I do not know if you are the lay around the pool type or want to have something to do all the time, I can't say much more.

Kerry, we were on Crown 2 weeks ago. We are big CCL fans, but decided to give the Crown a shot since it left from NY, went to some islands we had never been to and was a repo cruise so the $ was right. We were in cabin D932. so can't help you with the cabin, but we LOVED the Crown. I have a different opinion of the food. I thought the food at the buffet was excellent. What amazed and delighted me the most were the fresh donuts every morning! I kept asking DH how they could keep them so good for so long. I had visions of them bringing on cartons of Dunkin Donuts at each port. He finally explained that they just might MAKE them on the ship! The dinners were "so so." I honestly can barely remember what I ate except for the beef wellington at the 2nd formal night. I usually don't order it, but did from the opinions stated here and glad I did. It was the best dish I had at dinner the whole week. The filet mignon was a bit of a joke. I have had filet mignon and this was more a sandwich steak. Not to say it was BAD, just not "the best." We went to Horizon Court one night (Tues-but can't remember what the theme was) and they had excellent seafood kabobs. Shrimp and scallops. To die for! The only "problem" we had getting around was if/when we were going to the casino (which we did every night!) Since we were one cabin in from aft, we had to walk down the hall, then take the elevators down. But we figured it out soon enough. We didn't do any of the production shows or games, but we did go to Club Fusion every night. They always had something fun planned. One night it was Western Night and they taught line dancing, another night was 50's night. They also had American Idol contests. Only "complaint" I really had was no drink dispensers at the pools (we sat at the pool after MUTS pool-can't remember the name of it) All they had was coffee, tea and iced tea after breakfast (CCL has lemonade and fruit punch) And no ice machine~you had to spoon scoop ice into your cup. And they HAVE to get an automatic door going out to the pools from Horizon Ct. They have one, then you turn and have to go out another set of doors which isn't automatic and if you are carrying plate(s) of food and drinks, it is very awkward. I can't imagine why they have this. But those are very small "grievances." Crown is a beautiful ship. Have a great cruise! One tip: unless you have big pockets, take the plate offered you at the buffet and decline the napkin wrapped silverware. Fill your plate, THEN ask for silverware. Gives you one less thing to carry around the buffet line. ;)

Thank all of you for the input. I found it all most helpful - especially the Donuts. One of the last vices I have left. Quit smoking a year ago and drinking 15 years ago but I still love my sweets\deserts etc. My wife and I have been married 31 years and we are very private people. I say that because we will take most of our meals either on the balcony or someplace where we can be alone in the crowd so to speak. It sounds like we are going to have a wonderful trip based on all of your experiences. We havent been to Bonaire, Granada, or St Kitts before so we are really excited about those. Other than the Broadway shows and BIg Band Jazz we spend most of our nights watching the stars and sea from the balcony. Karen, I would love to hear about the MUTS experience. Any of you go to SkyWalkers? As pedestrian as this sounds - did anyone try the grilled food by the pool?

I lost 20 pounds to have more room to enjoy the food and looks like it was a great idea. Thanks again to all of you.
