Which rental car agency near Piers

Help please from all you experienced San Juan cruisers..

We are arriving in San Juan on Celebrity Galaxy Dec 22 and renting a car for one day, flying out the next. We hope to go to Aricibo antenna array and if time, the caves so want to get going quick like bunnies. I had booked a rental car at Budget in the Normandie hotel but got a call saying that Budget has been bought out by Avis and that location is closing. We would have to pick up a car at Placa America but they don't open until 11 am that day. We have early disembarkation and expect to be off the ship by 8 or 9. Which car rental agencies would be closest to the pier? We have paid for transfers with our Celebrity air but don't want to go all the way out to the airport by bus in order to rent a car and go in the opposite direction. Has anyone rented a car from the pier like this?

There are two options near the pier. Pier rentals is outside the Sheraton at the Pier and then Near the Normandy on Ashford is the other Avis rental car co. It is across the street from the Comfort Suites, You can pick up there and return to the airport.

 

Also if you have the transfer you can get one way refunded that you are not using.

Glad to see someone else had the same question I did! How far is the Avis location from the Sheraton? Is it walkable?

 

Also, what rental company is at the Sheraton?

Pier car rental is at the Sheraton and no it is not walkble to the Avis because goes over the bridge. Was about 8.00 cab ride. I have it reserved this weekend so will post if something different/
