Rockitman Posted November 6, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2007 I reserved an 8A balcony cabin for an upcoming cruise. It's on the Main deck and I was wondering if there are certain floors or rooms to avoid because your view might be obstructed by the life boats. Anybody know? If looking down into the waters is important then you want to avoid any cabin that is in the recessed part of the ship. The life boats will be sitting at that part. An 8A is fine. but if you took a 8A guarantee you could get a cabin that is the part of the ship that has the lifeboats as you look down. But really-- how much time is spent looking down into the waters?
SHIPSAWAY Posted November 20, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 20, 2007 This is the first time we will be going on a cruise. We are booked on the Pride. We have requested a 8A balcony view room. Can anyone recommend a room? Do all 8A rooms come with King beds? Or do you have to specify a King bed? Thank You.
serene56 Posted November 20, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 20, 2007 This is the first time we will be going on a cruise. We are booked on the Pride. We have requested a 8A balcony view room. Can anyone recommend a room? Do all 8A rooms come with King beds? Or do you have to specify a King bed? Thank You. ALL cabins come with two beds that are pushed together. On this class of ship all cat 8's are obstructed BUT on the regular cat 8A you will be in the recessed part of the ship that when you look down you will see lifeboats. The balconies are very narrow. We prefer the aft cabins. the cabins across the back of the ship. This way we cant be on the wrong side of the ship- either we will have the view while docked- or have the view as we sail away. thee best cabin on this ship is 7258 or 8232 (which hold 2 people or 6232 which hold 4). booking a 8A without stating a cabin number means you booked a guarantee cabin. You are guaranteed at least a 8A and nothing lower. You could get upgraded - you might not) booking a guarantee cabin is the lowest price you can go. booking a set cabin number will cost you more money. SInce it is the first cruise- you have nothing to comapre it to- stay in the guarantee status and hope for the best.
