I will be on Carnival's Liberty sailing on December 22.

 

Does anyone know any reliable private tours they could recommend?

 

Does Charlie Soto run Okey Dokey tours from Panama, I know he does from Costa Rica; if so, does anyone have his email or website url?

We just got off that cruise, and it was wonderful! However, do not book excursions through the guys with the yellow shirts on at the port...it is a big, fat rip-off!!!

We will also be on the Liberty on the 22nd. We are doing Charlie Sotos A-2 tour. I have checked into My friend Mario for Panama, we are contemplating it. We have been to Panama before, and was not impressed, we did a boat ride through the locks...very dissappointing for the money. This time we will have the kids....I do not want to pay the price for a boat ride through the locks for 3 teenagers. I am really thinking of getting a taxi, viewing the locks and going back to the ship!!!

We are also on the Liberty Dec 22. I booked with MY Friend Mario after seeing a lot of positive information here.

Please give us a report when you get back....we are headed that way next year and would love some good recommendations for an independent excursion that goes through the locks.

We used myfriendmario.com also. We loved the tour. We went hiking aways into the rainforest, saw an old fort and lots of monkeys and animals. Plus, we went to to locks. We had 5 teenagers with us, and they all liked it a lot. I highly reccommend them.

If I were to go to Panama again, I probably wouldnt get off the boat, but if we wanted to do an excursion I would probably book with My Friend Mario. Whatever you do, dont go to Portobelo. Waste of your money.
