Princess @ Fort Lauderdale

Wonder if anyone can help me with this.

 

We'll do the Everglades trip on the day we disembark. Not sure if we will do this with Princess but, if we do, does anyone know where we will be dropped off at the end of the day to collect our lugguage? We are staying in the area for a few days before our flight back to the UK but we're booking hotels ourselves and not with Princess. Any thoughts/suggestions?

I would suggest that you take your luggage to your hotel right away. Even though you will probably NOT be able to check in that early, you could leave your luggage at the front desk.

That's a good idea - I take it we just then need to make our way back to the Port?

If you do a ship's excursion, I doubt you'd be given time to take your luggage to your hotel. We did a ship's excursion on disembarkation day once before. In that instance, we joined the excursion after going through customs after disembarking the ship and the luggage traveled on the bus with us. After the excursion, we were taken to the airport and dropped off there. (We don't normally do ship's excursions, but this was a convenient way of passing the time between disembarkation and a late afternoon flight without having to worry about what to do with our luggage.)

We did the same thing and will probably do this excursion again. They will drop you off at the airport around 1:00 pm. From there you can just take a cab to your hotel. Enjoy your cruise!

Yesterday, after disembarkation, we went on the Ft Lauderdale tour to Flamingo Gardens and the Everglades airboat tour. Your baggage travels with you and then you will be dropped off, with your luggage, at the airport to take a cab to your hotel. It was quite well organized.

We took this tour in October of 2004. Following the tour, we had two options. We could get off at the airport or, if we were not flying out, we could stay on the bus and return to downtown Fort Lauderdale. Either way, the luggage went with us.

 

I don’t know if they still offer the option to return to downtown.
