JessH Posted November 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2007 HI there, new to RCI. I was wondering if there is sushi on the Navigator, (5nights). If yes, how often? thanks!
39august Posted November 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2007 I've been on Navigator on several 7 night cruises. I've not seen actual sushi, but have seen a few tired shrimp wraped around some rice and a few fake California rolls in the Windjammer at dinner. 1stXcruisers Posted November 12, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 12, 2007 The RCL website shows the Navigator, Mariner and Monarch having a Jade Restaurant, which specializes in Asian cuisine and would serve sushi. It shows up on the Monarch info. page but not the Navigator or Mariner. I sent an e-mail to Crown and Anchor to see if it was an error on line. I'll let you know what I hear. 39august Posted November 13, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 13, 2007 On both Navigator and Freedom, Jade is just the beginning of the Windjammer buffet. It is not a restuarant, per se.

B&R On Monarch Jade is a seperate area, on Navigator and Mariner it is just a counter in the Windjammer Buffet area with a few Asian/Oriental themed dishes. FitzLA Posted November 13, 2007 #6 Share Posted November 13, 2007 It's not real sushi. It is horrible. Don't get too excited.
piercetc4 Posted November 13, 2007 #7 Share Posted November 13, 2007 ditto what fitzla said! the sushi on the ship would probably only taste good to you if you had not had real sushi in like 10 yrs....................lol and after having it on the ship you may stay away from it another 10......:D
cmason Posted November 13, 2007 #8 Share Posted November 13, 2007 sushi was available all the time in the jade area, but as others have said, its more like pre-made sushi, like you get in cheap chinese buffets. Its like the stuff made in some plant somewhere and shipped out. Sushi hand made in most grocery stores blows this away.

I didn't know they had Sushi in cheap chinese buffets, since sushi is Japanese (and sometimes Korean). :D ;) That would be another reason to stay away from it. Come to Arkansas, you find it on a lot of the chinese buffets. Yet another reason I stay away from them!;)

1stXcruisers Posted November 15, 2007 #15 Share Posted November 15, 2007 The Jade Restaurant is located on deck 11 aft on the Mariner of the Seas. This is the reply I just got from my e-mail to C&A. I find it very interesting that they consider a sign about some Asian Food "The Jade Restaurant". My husband will be very disappointed to hear about the sushi quality we were looking forward to eating it. Are there any good Sushi restaurants in Orlando near the airport? It's really hard to find good sushi in the middle of the prairies. B&R
