Bioluminescent Kayaking December-Jan

I heard that the waters were rough for some people and that it was required that they carry their own kayaks - is there any truth to this? Has anyone had a bad experience for this time of year? Will biobay get us back to the ship on time (11:00 pm?)

Hey Shortstuff...here is my review from the Biobay tour we did last year. The kids definately got bit by mosquitos!

it is located in Fajardo (one of them) about 1.20 hrs from San Juan, Check the board for more info posted recently about the tours (nightly tours, of course)

i really appreciated the detail. This is something i have wanted to do and i may try it this january. eco tours and kayaking are among my favorite things to do.

I don't think RCI offers this excursion through the ship. Will I have time to do it on my own if we're in port from 3pm to 11pm? I would love to do this!

I don't know about RCI, as haven't been in SJ with RCI. Carnival has a tour on their ships, we are going on that. Make sure if you book a local private tour that you will get back for sailaway. The local ones we checked into would not be able to get us back in time...so a ship ex we booked. Whatever you choose to do, have fun....we leave today...:D
