denboy Posted November 14, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2007 hello, just wondering of the amenities on la sagesse and morne rouge beach? beach chair rentals, umbrella rentals, food availability? thanks! Both are quieter than the beach at Grand Anse and consequently do not have the same facilities. Neither offer beach chair or umbrella rental facilities. At La Sagesse there is a plantation house and annex offering accommodation and a beach front restaurant which caters for both guests and visitors. The views of the bay and beach are unresticted with the beach almost deserted. Morne Rouge is closer to the town of St. George's but again is not overly crowded and has a restaurant situated at the near end. Both of the restaurants offer excellent food. MaureenMary Posted January 20, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2008 Thank you so much..this really helps. Is the restaurant at La Sagesse the boutique hotel called the Nature Center? I found reviews from 2004, but none recently. Do you know the name of the restaurant at Morne Rouge? Do you think taxi's are the best or water taxi's from St George's? 4 weeks we til go...cheers, Maureen
denboy Posted February 2, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 2, 2008 The restaurant at Morne Rouge is called Sur la Mer and the hotel at La Sagesse goes by the resorts name. You will have to travel to both of these destinations by road taxi, water taxis only go to Grand Anse.
NoNoNanette Posted February 2, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 2, 2008 Hi gang! We had a blast at La Sagesse! You can read my review located in the AMSTERDAM REVIEW link in my sig. We used a driver, Bentley Little. He was a doll. insightplanning@spiceisle.com I wouldn't hesitate to return to that beautiful island!
Wineguys Posted February 3, 2008 #7 Share Posted February 3, 2008 You can rent a beach chair for about $4-5 US. The restaurant serves beer and burgers (great fries!), but it aint cheap by island standards. There are restrooms are the restaurant. Those are the facilities at LaSagesse.
