SeaW Posted November 13, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2007 We are doing the canal excursion offered by the ship. How is the seating on the ferry thru the canal? Are you able to see things easily or is your view obstructed by others if you are not sitting at the sides of the ferry?
whale-watcher Posted November 13, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 13, 2007 We stayed on the upper deck for the entire excursion...the seating included both fixed benches and moveable chairs, and there was never so much crowding the viewing was an issue. People tended to move about quite a bit...down to the lower air-conditioned decks, up to the front or back to the aft for pictures, and from side to side...there is so much to see, that you probably won't stay rooted in one place for the entire transit. I had the same experience. There was plenty of seating on the ferry and people tended to move around to get different views. Everybody was very polite to make sure they didn't obstruct other people's views.
SeaW Posted November 13, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted November 13, 2007 Thank you for the responses. That is good to hear, I read an earlier post where it appeared to be very crowded on the ferry. It sounds like you both had good experiences. I am really looking forward to this excursion.
SDN Posted November 19, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 19, 2007 In May, there were 2 ferries. One had an area to sit on top and one did not. I liked the very back as it had a view of the back and side. The front seats filled up quickly. Bring an umbrella and when the rain hits, you will have the place to yourself. macmax Posted November 29, 2007 #6 Share Posted November 29, 2007 Thanks for the pictures. Are there "decent" restrooms on board and how was the bus trip back?
mii Posted November 29, 2007 #7 Share Posted November 29, 2007 The bathrooms are decent to be expected on a 200 passenger ferry. The bus ride back was interesting but it made for a very long day. Just remember everyone that when we went in Feb. on the ferry it can be hot and humid. We stayed preety much in the air conditonedl area and like the above people mentioned they moved around alot. Sometimes it was hard to get a seat to just sit but we stood most of the time against the railing because there was so much to see and do. You will like the excursion. We did. marilyn
