POLL - Let's vote for the Triplets to stay in Seabourn's hands!

I voted "yes" even though I have never cruised Seabourn and it is for one reason only: I want a mostly smokefree Seabourn cruise on a Seabourn ship, where smoking of cigars is permitted only in an enclosed smoking room—never on deck—and where cigarette smoking is extremely limited, with perhaps a very small area on a deck (where no food is served and not at seats at the bar) in addition to the smoking room.

 

I am sorry if this disturbs people who smoke, but since Seabourn does not yet have a smokefree ship, then I don't see the harm in keeping one of them to please the forgotten majority of us cruisers who would enjoy a luxury cruise experience where we do not have to inhale or smell the smoke from other cruisers.

Hm I must say that Seabourn is very compliant now with the Carnival no smoking policies! Which will be even more sharpened in time...

Well don't worry, we are starting on the 2012 itineraries for all 5 ships ;)

 

Rogier21 - when will the itineraries post April 2010 be available? We really want to make some more bookings!

Can you define the new Carnival no smoking policy for me and what will be sharpened??

 

I just came off a 26 day Pride cruise, and the smokers and cigar smokers were ALWAYS at the skybar, making it difficult for those of us non smokers to enjoy the outdoor bar.

 

In the 'old days' - the cigar smoking room was the Constellation lounge after 9 or 10 pm, where they had the bar open as well, but that isn't open at night anymore.

Here is the smoking policy that is currently posted at seabourn.com - does anyone know what the "Seabourn square" is? It my first time hearing that term....

 

For the comfort and convenience of all guests, we ask guests to refrain from smoking:

In the Restaurant and the foyer outside its entrances, Colonnade and Restaurant “2” (inside and outside).

In the Club, Casino, Card room, Meeting rooms.

In the Grand Salon and Seabourn Square.

On the port side in the Observation Bar on Deck 10.

On the port side of the Sky Bar Deck 9.

All corridors, in the ship’s elevators and elevator lobbies.

In addition, we ask that guests refrain from smoking pipes and cigars anywhere inside the ship, including in guest suites. After dinner, an outdoor area of the Seabourn Square becomes the designated cigar smoking area after 09.00 p.m.

If you have doubts about any area, your onboard staff will be pleased to direct you to smoking or non-smoking areas.

Seabourn Square is a new area on the Odyssey (and the other new ships) which will encompass the purser's desk, shore excursion desk, concierge service, a cafe where coffees and pastries will be available, computer center, library etc. In other words, sort of a social hub for the ship.
