xtrmegee Posted November 20, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2007 We just came back from our 10 day cruise on the Emerald Princess and one of our ports was St. Kitts. We took a taxi tour then to various beaches that I had read about: South Friar, South Frigate, Cockleshell Beach, Turtle Beach (which is now under construction). The beaches are not that great, at least these 4 werent. Turtle Beach is under major reconstruction, the restaurant was closed. South Friar was ok, but there's no amenities. Cockleshell Beach was overcroweded. So we ended up staying at South Frigate which had a rocky beach and tons of annoying vendors asking every 10 seconds if you want a foot massage or your hair braided. I recommend taking a tour of the island instead of these beaches. Our Taxi Tour was awesome and the guy was really nice. He mentioned that if anybody robs the tourist its 50 years in jail and the trial is done before the ship leaves or they fly you back! They relalize that tourism is an asset and take it seriously. So feel comfortable that you are safe.
Carmic Posted November 20, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2007 xtrmegee..........did you find a tour when you got off the ship or did you reserve a private tour? Are there a lot of taxis offering tours of the Island? How much was your tour? Thanks
