Is there a fuel surcharge for 2008?

Was thinking about going on the Dawn in March. A cruise website said if I booked with them then I wouldnt get a fuel surcharge.

Book before December 1st, 2007 and there will be no fuel surcharge.

As Hoop Troop said, if you book before December 1, you (supposedly)won't be paying the fuel charge.

 

This is not specific to some "website"; it's what's happening in the cruise industry. IMO, you're going to somehow pay for the "fuel surcharge" no matter where or when you book :( .

If the website led you to believe that you had to book with them to avoid the surcharge, I would be really leery of anything else they told you!

I had the Pride of Hawaii booked for over a year and then I read a online article that the ship would be moved out of Hawaii. My agent failed to notify me and said we just slipped through the cracks. They offered to switch us to another ship (the Pride of America) without charging us the $35 change fee, so we picked a date in April of '08. We found out today we cannot go in April and must change to May. I found out that we needed to pay an additional $35 change fee and also a $7 per day, per person, fuel surcharge fee. What a crock!

Hopefully, your TA has a supervisor...talk to him/her.
