victory2020 Posted December 9, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2007 Just got off Paradise on Friday, we've been on her 3 times in the last year so I'm pretty familiar with everything (didn't go to the shows though) if you have any questions. AZaTaz Posted December 9, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2007 We will be on the Paradise in 8 days for the 4 day trip. How was your weather? We were on her in May and know the ship but have never done this in winter so just wondering what to pack. Shorts or Jeans?

Kitt Grey Posted December 9, 2007 #6 Share Posted December 9, 2007 I am interested in knowing what the menu is for the 4 day cruise. All the menu sites I have looked at have given them for 7 night or longer cruises. Thanks for offering to answer questions.
victory2020 Posted December 9, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted December 9, 2007 I'll try to answer all questions here so far. Yes, the casino is now smoking on the 4 day (I know this because I won the slot tournament!!!!!!!!!!!) The new cruise director is Danny Blake. The weather will hopefully be sunny - I would bring one pair of shorts. We had to change itinerary because of bad weather in Ensenada, but weather was great in Catalina (in fact the best I've ever seen there) & at sea. Started out cloudy in Ensenada but was sunny into the day. All days it was great untill about sunset, then got chilly. As far as menus, I can almost remember them by heart. 1st day beef wellington, seafood newberg, tilapia(?), 2nd day, lobster(served with shrimp), duck, prime rib. 3rd day Sweet & sour shrimp, jerk pork, turkey, NY steak. 4th, chateaubriand, dill salmon, baked chicken. Defineatly different than 7 day cruise. No lobster bisque, creme brulee, crab.

sparkscruiser Posted December 10, 2007 #10 Share Posted December 10, 2007 Taking our daughter on this one in March. Had a friend on the Paradise a few years ago and she tells me that at the time she looked a little worn. I don't really care all that much - I'm on a cruise! But in your honest opinion, what did you think?
victory2020 Posted December 10, 2007 Author #11 Share Posted December 10, 2007 Taking our daughter on this one in March. Had a friend on the Paradise a few years ago and she tells me that at the time she looked a little worn. I don't really care all that much - I'm on a cruise! But in your honest opinion, what did you think? We thought it is in pretty good shape overall. The room we were in in April had a big stain on the carpet, the room we were in this time had a cracked sink, & the TV was on its last legs, but the public rooms seem to be kept up well considering the age & wear & tear she gets. She was in for drydock in Nov 2005 (or maybe04?), & going back in Dec 2008. Then she will have flat screen tvs, waterpark & the dining rooms will be totally upgraded.
