HollySkis Posted December 9, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2007 We are sailing the Liberty Dec 16th to Ocho Rios. Where is the best place to get rum and how much does it usually cost. Is this an item that the price is up for negotiation? Thanks for any advice :-)
Daycare Provider Posted December 10, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2007 :D When you walk off the ship go to the Island Village Shopping Center. When you see Margaritaviille you know that you are there. There is a rum shop that offers free tastings.
cruiser1163 Posted December 15, 2007 #3 Share Posted December 15, 2007 We are sailing the Liberty Dec 16th to Ocho Rios. Where is the best place to get rum and how much does it usually cost. Is this an item that the price is up for negotiation? Thanks for any advice :-) We just returned from there. We went into the Village Shopping Center and there is a place to the left across from the peanut vendor guy and in front of Margarittaville. We payed $15 for a liter of Appleton Reserve and they had a knockoff brand of Overproof for 2/$15. In total, we bought 8 bottles (just under 7 liters) for $78. Great deal!! Rare Keith1010 Posted December 17, 2007 #4 Share Posted December 17, 2007 You will see lots of places either near the cruise ship terminal or if you go into town. Keith

HollySkis Posted January 16, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted January 16, 2008 We ended up getting it at a place when we were walking back from Margaritaville. I forgot the exact name of the place, but it was Cruise Liquors or something with the word cruise in it. We tasted several kinds and ended up getting 2 big bottles. They pack them up and deliver them to the ship so you don't get the alcohol until the last night. We asked if we could buy the little bottles to "drink now" and they said that was ok (and even gave us cups of ice). We ended up buying several of those and took them back on the ship (in our pockets and bags) to drink on the ship. I think you are allowed to bring two bottles back into the US per person.
