Queen's Staircase

cruiserkcs ...

It's an easy 10 minute walk. As safe as you'd be anywhere downtown in a bustling city. Danger of getting mugged - extremely low. Danger of getting clopped by a passing horse and carriage - quite a bit higher!

Here's a photo:

(you'll have to copy it into the address bar since I can't get the html to work, sorry)

Walk up the staircase (66 steps - take it slow). Up at the top is Fort Fincastle, a cluster of handicraft stalls and the Water Tower. If it's not too windy and a clear day ride the elevator to the top and take a picture of your cruise ship at the dock. You can see the whole island from up there. Spectacular on a pretty day.

Have fun.

Can you give the directions from the cruise ship port to the Queen's staircase?

Nassau downtown is pretty small. Your cruise ship will dock right in the downtown area. Bay Street run East-West. Go east on Bay street (pass Charlotte and East St) until you see Elizabeth St. Turn right on Elizabeth (you might need to rely on the signs since the street name are not always posted). The Queen's staircase is a couple blocks away. Be careful since there will be a portion of the street where the side walk disappeared. The staircase will leads you to the water tower and Fort Fincastle.

This is the small map I used. I hope this link works for you: Nassau Downtown
