No Alaska intineraries in 2005

I don't know how their occupancy rates were this year, but perhaps they were down. We looked at Crystal and Silversea for our August RT to Alaska from SF and the very significant cost differential was a deciding factor in our choice of Crystal. BTW-had a great time on a geat ship.

3 months until Silver Shadow.

We did the big ship (Carnival Spirit) to Alaska last year and a had a great time. Just returned from two weeks on Seabourn and REALLY loved it. Will go Alaska again with grown children in June of 2005. Noticed the lack of smaller ships. Hmmmm....

To be honest, the big draw there is the scenery and less of the ship, but a smaller ship that can get into smaller places would be nice.

I'm just back from the Wind. While on board we got the first few months of the 2006 schedule from the cruise consultant. The Shadow will be going back to China and Japan in May. This is where the schedule ended, but if Silversea follows the 2004 itinerary it will cruise from Japan over to Alaska. I think they want to shorten the time in Alaska though.
