juli17 Posted April 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2004 Can anyone tell me if tenders are used in Cannes? I will be on the Norwegian Dream later this month, and I'm trying to figure out if it is easy to go back and forth to the ship. Thanks! catandave Posted April 13, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2004 We visited Cannes last July on Norwegian Crown and yes we tendered ashore. The tenders docked at a jetty on the west edge of the yacht marina. It was pleasant 10/15 minute stroll along the promenade past all the yachts and cafes to what seemed the centre of the tourist part of town. Rare Hlitner Posted April 13, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I would add that this tender pier area has plenty of cafes and a good sandy public beach all within a few minutes walk. Hank
stingraynz Posted May 6, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 6, 2004 We were just there a week ago on the Royal Princess and tenders are defintiely used for cruise ships as everyone mentioned above. The nice thing was that there was a huge tender used from Cannes that must have carried 100+ passengers ashore, plus they must have used 4 or 5 of the ships' tenders. I was very pleasantly surprised of this efficiency and everyone could get ashore rather quickly.
