Dubrovnik Amazing Race

Has anyone been to the cross high above Dubrovnik as seen on Amazing Race last night? If so how much did it costs to get a cab up there. I would love to go up there on our cruise. Thanks

We didn't go, but you can see it from old town. My guesstimate would be $10, and the cabbie that took us to old town took US dollars...about the only place that welcomed them.

In May, a cab took 4 of us from the port (not the port near the Old Town) and gave us a little scenic tour, including a stop at the cross, and then dropped us at Old Town for 45 euros. The whole tour was an hour or and hour-and-a-half. It would be less if you were already in Old Town and just wanted to go up to the cross.

 

By the way, what I didn't see on TAR was the view of the bombed-out cable car station that's also up there. Driving around gave us a small idea of the destruction still left from the civil war.
