Happy2bCrews Posted January 1, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2008 So does the corkage fee depend on the size of the bottle? Is it more for the "combat" bottle vise the 750ml bottle? What about box wine? Same $15 charge or more? Will be cruising on the Jewel. Thanks :)
salty dingo Posted January 1, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2008 Some people report being charged $15 "per liter" and others have reported $15 per container. We took a couple of boxes of wine, giftwrapped, onboard NCL Majesty in '05, and I think they were looking pretty hard for alcohol at that time. We also had several small plastic flasks concealed in various places, plus some members of our party had a bar set-up, and I also brought back some beer from port. So, we had waaay too much alcohol and had to take some back home. I think one of the boxes of wine was not even unwrapped. So, to answer you question, if they find it, they may charge you per liter, but you would have the option of letting them hold it for you until the end of the cruise and paying nothing. garycarla Posted January 2, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2008 The "policy" is $15 per 750ml - normal size bottle. In reality, people have been charged - the same for a 1.5 ltr bottle - double for a 1.5 ltr bottle - $15 for a 3 ltr box - $45 for a 3 ltr box - $60 for a 3 ltr box or ZERO for any size when not noticed by the staff. your mileage may vary And, before someone asks, it has nothing to do with a cork. And it is the same price if you drink in your room or the dining room. A bottle ordered via NCL and paid for my either you, a TA or a friend, does NOT incur an additional $15 fee.
