anyone know how long john will be on the splendor? we are booked in jan and wondered if he would be gone by then.

Yes, Goose Neumann will be your cruise director then. John is leaving the later part of November.

Does anyone have any info. on the Activities Directors that help out the CD's on each ship? We just got back from the Valor. Amy & Matt where awesome on this ship. Would love to find a way to tell them how great they made our cruise. They made this one of the most fun cruises I've had since my first one.

Ryan Fitzgerald was the CD, really didn't see too much of him.

We sailed with Goose on one of our RCL cruises and he is awesome. He is definately out and around, but didn't ever seem to busy to stop and say hi. It seemed like his staff really enjoyed working with him. He is from somewhere in the states, but I don't remember where exactly.

 

We have just in the few minutes learned that he is with Carnival now (we thought he had left the cruise industry) and are already trying to plan when we can sail with him again! :p

Do you know if she is replacing Big Tex at the beginning of December?

 

According to John's Blog...Big Tex is suppose to be the Cruise Director of the Fantasy through our Blogger's Cruise on February 7, 2009. I believe he said he leaves after that week.

Goose was very nice and handled our crowd very well. He needs to shorten the sleeves of his jacket, however. They were too long.:)

Risa Barnes currently CD on Inspiration is transferring to Fantasy in December, hate to see her leave Tampa, she is such an inspiration!

 

Risa is the best. I have been planning on booking the Inspiration so I could cruise with her again...but if she ends up on the Fantasy in NOLA and/or Mobile....it will be fantastic.

 

I am getting ready for my third cruise with Big Tex (he sure has improved) but would love to see Risa on board.

Karl with a "K" is boring.... He is not very good, he tries to be wity, but it just doesn't work.

 

Maybe he's improved by now.....

 

I'll say just the opposite - DH and I have sailed with Karl twice now and would actually pick a cruise based on Karl being CD. I always wondered what the big deal here with CDs was until we sailed with him. You can tell he truly loves his job and people. He's always out and about around the ship and really shocked me when he remembered us 9 months later. Both times we thought he was a hoot and lots of fun. I really think he will end up one of Carnival's star CDs.

 

I wish I could say the same for the others we've sailed with but Chris Roberts was just ok and I've thought Malcolm on the Victory was worthless (and rude) both times we've sailed with him.

Ryan "dandy lion" will go to the Triumph after her dry dock. He left the Valor on Sept.14 He was the CD on the Valor on my cruise and left after the cruise was over.
