Lobby of the Bellagio LV and Pride Of Hawaii question

Hey everyone,

I was looking through old pictures from a Las Vegas trip and noticed the top of the atrium/lobby on the Hawaii as a similar looking glass flower/circle display similar to the Bellagio's lobby. Does anyone know if they were done by the same artist?

They do look similar. I can confirm that the Bellagio lobby ceiling is the work of glass artist Dale Chihuly; you may have seen documentaries on PBS on him and his work. They have other of his pieces scattered around the Bellagio also. The ceiling is truly striking!

 

From Wikipedia: "Dale Chihuly's Fiori di Como, composed of over 2,000 hand-blown glass flowers, covers 2,000 square feet (610 m²) of the [bellagio] lobby ceiling."

 

I don't know if the POH piece is a Chihuly, or just a "Chihuly-style" piece. When the Bellagio opened in 1998 it was rumored that the lobby ceiling piece cost over $1 million.....

We really love the glassworks by Dale Chihuly in the lobby at the Bellagio. Fom my review of his website, It would appear that the works you saw are not his.

Thanks everyone. It was funny because I was with a friend and we just walked into the Bellagio and I said "that looks just like the POH's atrium." It sure looked good.
