freedom pool question

We'll be cruising on the Freedom in March with our 3 1/2 year old son. I see that there is a water slide at one of the pools and i'm wondering if there is an age limit to use it? I would love to take Aidan on it, he would have a blast. If anyone knows about this I would really appreciate the info. TIA!

Happy Cruising :)

This was taken directly from Carnival's website...

"Are there any height requirements for Carnival's Twister Waterslide?spacer.gifCarnival's Twister waterslides that are on ships that run into a pool (Fantasy & Holiday class vessels) have a height requirement of 48” or 4 feet. This height is set by the manufacturer. It is set for the safety of the guest using the equipment.

Carnival's Twister waterslides that run off into itself (Destiny, Sprit, Conquest class vessels) have a height requirement of 42’ as they do not have a pool at the bottom to worry about."

I'm not sure if your son will be tall enough. My son is 3 1/2 and is 42 inches tall. So he's not tall enough. :(

Yep that's correct, 48" if the slide empties out into the pool. And 42" if it doesn't.

My 7 year old was 48" exactly on our last carnvial cruise. Some guards would let her, some wouldn't. So when she found one who would she would ride the darn thing the entire time that guard was on duty...lol.

And my 3.5 year old is a shorty, so she won't be able to go on those slides for a long time.

Do you think there is any way they would allow you to hold the child on your lap and go down with them, or is it strict that they are that tall no matter what? Does anyone know if this applies to the new slides on the Imagination (the side by side racer style slides)? My DS probably won't want to use them anyway - the spray park will probably be enough, just wondering though. He is a shorty too.
