Dolphin Encounter or Swim -- What's the Diff?

We wanted to do the dolphin swim, but it was sold out. The dolphin encounter is available. What is the difference between the two and is the dolphin encounter worthwhile?

My friend did the encounter with her little son. It is more that you go in the water and the dolphins come to you. So you are not actually swimming and doing the different things with the dolphins. Her older kids did the swim instead.
