coffee39 Posted January 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2008 Is anyone familiar with a large street fair that is held in Anchorage? I had read something about it several months ago and now cannot find the information. I am wondering if it is every weekend and what days and hours it would be. I know that DH would really enjoy this if we can possibly fit it into our schedule. I appreciate any help you can give me.
AkSusan Posted January 10, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2008 Are you talking about our Saturday/Sunday Market http://www.anchoragemarkets.com/main.html It's held in one of our parking lots (at the corner of 3rd and E, caddy corner from the Hilton) through out the summer, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. It's vendor selling their wares as well as food vendors. And they do have some talent. It's starting May 10th this year and ending September 7th. Been going to it since it started and my advice get there early because the last few years about 11 a.m. some of the cruise lines are dropping bus loads off. Susan in Anchorage :)
cjnky Posted January 10, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2008 I'm not a big shopper, but we both LOVED the Anchorage weekend market!! It's one of those things I'll definitely do again on our "next trip"!! We were there toward the end of their season and got some real bargains. sarbah77 Posted January 11, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 11, 2008 Wow, that looks like fun. *thinks out loud* Our car is due back to the rental agency at noon. Our flight leaves at 7pm. Now, as soon as I figure where to store the luggage, this might be a great idea! (assuming, the DH is up for it ;))
