Names for new builds.

Recommended Posts

Does anyone think that RCCL should recycle some of the ship names no longer with the fleet. I was just wondering becuse Hollad America and Cunard have done this often.

Some of the retired names are:

Nordic Prince

Sun Viking

Song of America

Song of Norway

What do you think? And yes I am showing my age.

I don't think so. I think each new ship deserves its own name.

Besides, could you imagine if another ship was named something like Titanic. Some people are superstitious and wouldn't sail a ship with that name!!

Princess is another that regularly "recycles" names of their ships.

It does get confusing at times when discussing ships. Maybe they should use numbers when recycling, somewhat like QE2, which of course is a long story, still hotly debated, more than QM2.
